Turbana becomes Fyffes North America

The Turbana bananas will be labeled under the Fyffes brand from now on. The Irish multinational has been part-owner of Turbana since 2005. The move will be announced officially at the PMA Fresh Summit, but news has already been spread among customers of Fyffes. The first bananas with the Fyffes logo will be shipped to the US and Canada. The Turbana label will only be used upon request and remain the main brand for plantains and ethnic tropicals.

With this step, Fyffes will make headway on the American market. The company is already a market leader with 46 million boxes in Europe. On the American market, Fyffes is fourth with ten million boxes per year. Additionally, Fyffes supplies pineapples and melons to the US.
