Opened by Daikin Reefer

Dubai: New spare parts centre for container refrigeration equipment

Daikin Reefer, a global supplier of container refrigeration equipment, announced on September 27 the opening of a new spare parts center in Dubai – making it the first manufacturer to establish an official parts center in this region. Supporting Daikin’s commitment to safeguarding reliability and protecting cargo, the parts center will be managed by long-term partner and leading reefer servicing operator, IRS International (IRSI).

Officially launched on September 27 at an opening ceremony, the new spare parts center will be located in Jebel Ali Free Zone, and will have a specific focus on providing refrigerated container services. This will be a significant step for Daikin Reefer, which has to date been relying on the experience and expertise of 20 Daikin authorized repairers located across the 15 main ports of the Middle East region.

Commenting on the new spare parts center, Mr. Shin Furuta, President, Daikin Reefer said: “This is an exciting milestone for Daikin Reefer, as the Middle East is increasingly becoming a prominent container market. As with our other regional spare parts centers, our Dubai center will stock all the major spare parts used and will be able to make these available to customers quickly and efficiently when required.”

As the Middle East container market continues to grow, so too does the need for specialized repairers that are able to deliver an improved service. Daikin Reefer hopes that the establishment of this new spare parts center will be welcomed by its customers, particularly shipping lines and repairers who have previously highlighted the need for a ‘Satellite Parts Center’, in a bid to drive down delivery costs and improve the overall supply chain.

With the largest spare parts register in stock across Australasia, IRSI has the greatest infrastructure and scale of any reefer servicing operator in the region. However, what sets it apart is its qualified and experienced managers and technicians. With all branches fully equipped with the correct equipment and a skilled workforce, this enables the IRSI team to carry out work effectively and to the highest standards. The company invests significantly in training programs to develop skills sets and drive retention. It is this commitment that ensures that standards are upheld, that the best and most skilled people remain in the sector, and, importantly, that the cargo is protected.

Commenting on the new Dubai Satellite Parts Center, Katsuhiro Tetsuya, Reefer Container Division Director, Daikin said: “Daikin Reefer is committed to offering the best possible service for our customers. This means ensuring that the right people and the right equipment are in place to ensure we continually offer a service grounded in integrity, performance, and efficiency. Our partner, IRS International is the leader in repair and maintenance for the reefer container industry. Their passion for reefers coupled with their unrivaled skill and expertise makes them the perfect partner to manage our Dubai parts center.”
