First Fresh-Cut Day

The company Enza Zaden organised the first Fresh-Cut Day in Dannstadt-Schauernheim, Germany. The customers’ increased demand for varieties suitable for use in convenience foods, was the basis for this special event. It was an opportunity to meet growers, producers, processors and vendors and to discuss the current trends and exchange information about the production chain.

The companies Gartenfrisch Jung (Jagsthausen), Premium Fresh Network (Möckmühl) and the supermarket chain REWE (Cologne) gave. in their presentations, an interesting insight into production, processing and trade and the future trends in these fields.

Host, Enza Zaden, presented an overview of the production of Fresh-Cut and the new objectives in this field. After the interesting and insightful presentations, the participants of the Fresh-Cut Day participated in an excursion to see the many varieties they discussed previously. During the excursion lively talks ensued, mainly about themes such as durability, productivity and quality.
