The 2016 BCGA Demonstration site has 64 carrot varieties provided by 7 seed companies including, Elsoms, Hazera, Rijk Zwaan, Nunhems, Agri Seeds, Clause and Seminis. In addition to the variety plots Syngenta and Bayer will be demonstrating some of their products.
Innovation is a continuing theme for this event and all the trade companies will be asked to submit their most innovative product or service prior to the event and an innovation award winner will be chosen by the BCGA R & D Committee.
Similarly, each seed company will be asked to submit their best variety for evaluation by the delegates so that a ‘best variety in show’ can be determined.
Many trade companies will be present (35 booked in so far) and there will also be machinery displays and demonstrations.
This is a well-established annual event for all those involved in production or allied to this significant industry. Entry is free of charge and light refreshments will be provided. All who have a commercial interest in carrot production are invited.
