Weird and wonderful giant vegetables

Pumpkins as big as polar bears?

Many people love growing their own vegetables at home or on an allotment, but for some people it’s an obsession of gigantic proportions.

To mark Sun Leisure’s appearance at the 2016 Harrogate Flower Show, they have done some digging (pun intended) and uncovered the weird and wonderful world of giant vegetables. The infographic takes a closer look at some of the largest vegetables ever grown, including pumpkins as big as polar bears, leeks grown while listening to swing music, and much more.

There are also a handful of quick tips, such as when to plant and what pests to look out for, that you can use if you want to have a go and try growing your own giant vegetables.
