Peru exports 156% more blueberries to the United Kingdom

The Office of Foreign Trade of Peru (OCEX) in London, stated that Peru had exported 530 tons of blueberries worth 3.3 million dollars to the UK in the first five months of this year: that is 143% more than in the same stretch of 2015.

Demand for this product in the UK, a country that produces Driscoll's blueberries and has a niche production between June and November, is being boosted by campaigns, such as the National Blueberry Day (August 12).

It is important to note that during the past year, Peru exported $96 million dollars worth of blueberries to the UK, which is the only destination where domestic entrepreneurs ship this type of berry.
