Peru: Ica will be present at Expoalimentaria

The exporting companies of the region of Ica will exhibit their product offer at the Expoalimentaria fair, which will be visited by buyers from all over the world, so that they can increase their sales abroad, stated the Association of exporters of Peru (Adex).

This region exported 507.6 million dollars in food products between January and July this year, 92% of which were agro-industrial products and 8% originated from non-traditional fishing.

In addition, the region of Ica sent its products to 74 countries, mainly to the United States, which accounted for 30.7% of total exports, the Netherlands, which accounted for 15% of exports, Spain, the United Kingdom, and Hong Kong.

Others market destinations were China, where they sent grape, seaweed, and avocado; Canada, Italy, and Panama.

Varied offer
Ica's offer is composed of fresh, dried, and frozen grapes, asparagus, pomegranates, tangerines, onions, tomatoes, seaweeds, mangoes, Pecans, and other products.

Even though Ica is one of the top ranking exporting regions in the country because of its traditional products, entrepreneurs from the region are going to participate in Expoalimentaria to try and expand their export volume and the value of their shipments abroad.

The fair will be held in Lima from September 28 to September 30 at the Jockey Exhibition Centre, in a 23,400 square-meter arena. Adex and Promperu are organising the fair.
