"We seek to become pioneers in the Russian market"

The Hass avocados of the company Aguacates Acuitzio del Canje S. A. de C. V. (ADEAC), of Mexico, are currently at the end of the flowering stage. According to the General Manager of the firm, Mr Orlando Valencia Andrade, the season will reach its peak in terms of volume from next month.



The company exports about 6,000 tonnes of avocados of its own production, as well as some from other Mexican producers. Currently, its biggest market is Canada, but it soon plans to export to Europe and Asia, and later expects to complete the necessary formalities to export to the United States.

ADEAC will start its expansion in the Russian market, which is why it plans to take part in the next edition of the trade fair Worldfood Moscow. "It is an unexplored market," explains the General Manager. "There are not many Mexican companies shipping avocados to Russia. Furthermore, the event will help us find distributors in other European countries, allowing us to export also there."



Russia's veto to European products is a real advantage for Mexico, and ADEAC hopes to make the most of it. Furthermore, Russia is a market where you will encounter little competition. "Some have exported avocados to Russia, but it is not common. We seek to be pioneers in this market," he affirms. "The Mexican government has set up agreements to export the product, and the state of Jalisco has already signed an agreement with Russia to export avocados."

The exporter assures that ADEAC will look for logistics strategies and will handle its products with the utmost efficiently so that they can reach their destination in the best conditions, since the shipping time to St Petersburg is a very long one, lasting about 29 days.



The exchange rate between the Mexican peso and the major currencies, such as the Euro and the dollar, has been fluctuating a lot due to recent events, according to the General Manager.

Aguacates Acuitzio del Canje S. A. de CV is a newly formed company, although its owner has 30 years' experience in the production of avocados. In the past, it sold its products to larger companies, but now it has set up a commercial branch to handle its overseas sales directly.

ADEAC will take part in Worldfood MoscĂș at Mexico's hall. At the fair, it hopes to meet other companies with which to forge long-term relationships to be able to gain access to European markets and reach more people around the world.
