Mireia Belmonte recovers from Olympic Games with Platano de Canarias

After the recent completion of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, Mireia Belmonte, the current Olympic swimming champion, took a few days of rest amidst the banana plantations in the Canary Islands.

The athlete, who is an ambassador to the Platano de Canarias, travelled to the Islands a few days ago to enjoy an environment in which she can rest and recover before returning to training.

During her stay, which lasted until Wednesday, Mireia took the opportunity to learn about the work done by the producers. "It was important for me to see the work of the producers, who put all their effort into their job every day. It's also my way of thanking them for their support and for having accompanied me in this journey to Olympic success."

Platano de Canarias took advantage of her visit to congratulate her on behalf of the more than 8,200 producers that currently make up the sector on the islands. They said they are thrilled by her success and proud to have an ambassador who is recognised for her hard work, effort, and constant improvement; values that they share with her.
