Irish multinational increases share in Canadian mushrooms

Fyffes buys Canadian mushroom company All Seasons Mushroom

Irish multinational Fyffes made a take-over bid for Canadian mushroom company All Seasons Mushroom. According to reports in Irish media Fyffes will pay 41 million dollar for All Seasons. With that bid, the company will be completely owned by the Irish multinational. Earlier this year, Fyffes took over another Canadian mushroom company - in April, the company paid 99 million euro for Highline Produce.

Highline Produce was completely taken over by Fyffes. Canadian media is talking of a take-over purchase of All Seasons by Highline Produce, a subsidiary company of Fyffes. CEOs of both companies have responded in a press release. “Highline is a natural choice for All Seasons,” according to Frank Moscone, CEO and founder of All Seasons. “We have a shared culture which acknowledges the value of our dedicated staff, customers and suppliers.” Glenn Martin, CEO of Highline Produce: “I am looking forward to working with Frank Moscone and his team once we combine these two fantastic mushroom companies. Both companies are known for their quality, customer relationships, innovations and leading positions for the supply of organic mushrooms.”

Both mushroom cultivators are big in organic mushroom cultivation. Additionally, national coverage is created because both Highline and All Seasons fall under the Fyffes Group. CEO David McCann of Fyffes also responds to the take-over: “We are pleased to have acquired All Seasons. The company is a strategic addition to Highline, which we took over earlier this year. Highline and All Seasons are well positioned to provide Canadian consumers with a consistent supply of mushrooms from coast to coast.” In addition, the mushrooms will also remain available on the American market.
