Chongming fruit popular in Hong Kong

At the end of July, a first 300 kg batch of Shanghai Chongming honey peaches officially went on sale in Hong Kong. One honey peach costs 38 HKD. The peaches were sold out in less than three days. At the beginning of August, Chongming got approval from the Inspection and Quarantine Bureau to export two more local specialities to Hong Kong for the first time. These are Cuiguang pears and yellow peaches. So Chongming has now already exported three major fruit varieties to Hong Kong this summer.

Crisp air, clean soil and a clear water system are all aspects which make the superb fruits and vegetables of Chongming grow healthy and strong. Apart from the familiar products such as crab, sheep and white beans that Shanghai citizens are so used to, now Cuiguan pears, yellow peaches, grapes, honey peaches and other fruits have all brought out their own brand.
