Weekly arrivals year-round organic pineapples from Ivory Coast

A Dutch organic trader began developing organic pineapple production in Ivory Coast, in partnership with a growers collective in the region. Last May they received the first organic pineapples and the quality is very good. In Bonoua, the leading pineapple growing area of Côte d'Ivoire, OTC supports the growers with financing and advice. Together with growers OTC also invests in infrastructure, so that the pineapples are optimally harvested, sorted, packaged and transported. The result of this is that from September onwards OTC is expecting weekly arrivals, year-round.

Mmmbio house brand: quality, social & sustainable
Pineapples are provided (on request) with the new Mmmbio label. Due to expansion of the organic range, OTC redesigned the housebrand Mmmbio. Mmmbio, with the distinctive green logo in the shape of a honeycomb, stands for high quality organic products with focus on quality, sustainability and social development in the habitat of the grower. These principals are completely in line with OTC’s core values Organic Integrity, Transparency and Commitment. In Ivory Coast OTC works with growers on the 'OTC Social Upliftment’ program. In exchange for OTC’s commitment, OTC ask their partners to develop a social project in which education plays a key role. After all, OTC believes: education is the key to a better future! In addition to expanding the packing line, OTC is currently also working on the website www.mmmbio.com that will soon be online. In the future OTC hopes to connect many more social projects to the Mmmbio label.

Weekly arrivals
Starting this week, OTC will receive a weekly container of organic pineapples in the OTC bio handling center in Poeldijk (The Netherlands).
