UK: Cavolo Nero is back in season

Cavolo Nero is back on the market this week, George Beach from Mudwalls Farm said the crop is looking very good.

"We are just starting our first harvest of the Cavolo Nero and it will be available right through the winter until February/March. We have several acres here at Mudwalls Farm. It is very similar to Savoy cabbage, but with a stronger taste and texture. It is great for stir fry and steaming, explains George.

The black kale goes to retailers as well as chefs and on line recipe box customers.

This weekend the first Discovery apples will be harvested at Mudwalls, according to George these are looking great, bright and red and superb quality. He forecasts a good apple crop this year.
