Russia wants to fix relationship with Turkey
"We are diligently looking for a full recovery in relationships with our friends Turkey, with whom we have had a unique relationship and collaboration for years," said president Putin during a press conference during a visit to Kazakhstan. With this he underlined the outcome of president Erdogan's visit to Moscow last week.
Russia maintains destruction policy
The Kremlin renewed the period in which illegally imported products can be destroyed to 31 December 2017. The decision to destroy the products was made in July 2015 to combat smuggling. Since then around 7300 tonnes of fruit and vegetables and 230 tonnes of animal products.
Talks around Bosnia Herzegovina boycott
Mirko Sarovic, minister of Foreign Affairs and Economic relations for Bosnia and Herzegovina, confirmed at the end of the week that the Russian phytosanitary service will arrive on August 18 to do inspections. There is also a meeting planned in Moscow where representatives from the two countries will meet. The inspections and discussions are the results of the boycott that Russia announced on Bosnia and Herzegovina.
First reefer to Russia by train
RZD Logistics, a subsidiary of the Russian railway, loaded the first reefer container by train from China on August 8. The container with fruit and vegetables is the first of what they hope to turn into a regular service. The container is expected to arrive at its destination between August 26 and 28. This is 12 days faster than transport by ship. A diesel generator will keep the products at the right temperature.
Uzbek nectarines disinfected
During the inspection the Russian phytosanitary service found an exceedance on a party of nectarines from Uzbekistan. The 7 tonnes of stone ruit were disinfected in accordance with the Russian laws.
Europe main trade partner of Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan's main trade partner is the EU. This shows from figures that the Azerbaijani bureau for statistics released. Between January and June of this year the country traded with companies and individuals from 163 countries. 6.3 billion dollars worth was exported and 4 billion dollars worth imported. This made the trade positive at 2.2 billion dollars. Of all this trade 41.9 percent was with EU countries, 12.6 percent with CIS countries and the other 45.5 percent with other countries.
