International Limgroup Asparagus Days: 28-29 September

The asparagus area has increased sharply during the last decade. Especially the expansion of areas in Germany (22,000 hectares), the UK (2,000 hectares) and the Netherlands (3,000 hectares) are striking. Areas in southern Europe also expanded, mostly for the cultivation of green asparagus.

Asparagus breeding station Limgroup is a permanent partner to many asparagus cultivators. The supply of ‘lim’ strains has expanded in recent years. In order to share the latest developments in the asparagus industry with cultivators, Limgroup organises the International Limgroup Asparagus Days on Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 September.

Both days have a programme involving a symposium on asparagus, a trade fair with exhibitors from northwestern Europe, and guided tours on the demonstration field including machinery demonstrations. The demonstration field contains many new cultivation technologies, including double-row planting systems, underground fertigation, planting with soil blocks and several other cultivation technology developments.
