With preparations for the 2016 campaign underway, predictions have not taken long to arrive. "This year, prospects point to a 20% growth of the seedless varieties. Many importers are aware of this situation, so much of the national production is already sold," affirms Pacherres.
Furthermore, the seedless varieties are expected to continue being the most exported this year and there should be a very high demand worldwide. "While it is known that the Red Globe variety is being replaced in many markets by the seedless varieties, this year this trend is even more marked. Many of the producers who are aware of this are conducting trials with new seedless varieties that meet the requirements of the markets they are targeted to. It is possible for these new varieties to start arriving to the tables of consumers this campaign," concludes the spokesperson.
