MD14 XL
50th heavyweight scale delivered
At the beginning of the holiday season, Manter International, producer of weighing and packing machines for the fresh produce industry, delivered the 50th MD14 XL heavy weight scale within a period of 2 years. The MD14 XL is the new version of the previous model, which sold over 150 times.
The success of this scale is due to the great flexibility and precision. The scale is able to work very precise at slow speeds up to 15 bags per minute and it can continue this up to speeds of 24 packages of 25 kgs per minute. This way the scale can serve multiple packers at the same time.
Because of the setup of the weighing buckets, there are limited falls, easy elimination to multiple sides, and a natural flow of products that is necessary especially at high speeds to prevent congestion in the packers. The scale has 14 XL large broad weighing buckets that can weigh large products, such as Markies potatoes.
There is an option to order the scale with assembly lines instead of vibrating feeders; this might be an advantage when unwashed products are weighed. The MD14 XL is mainly used for potatoes and onions, but recently a project used walnuts. The 50th scale is delivered to a customer in the UK.
