First direct supply of Chinese Nanhui peaches to Hong Kong

On July 27th, Mr. Jiang Yuan, the deputy director of Shanghai Inspection and Quarantine Bureau came to Huinan town near Pudong area, where he attended launching ceremony organized by Pudong Agricultural Association. The launching ceremony marked that the Nanhui peaches have obtained the qualifications for international market export. As a follow-up step, the Inspection and Quarantine Bureau will further build its quality inspection system for exported agricultural products, it will also help increase Nanhui peach's brand value by extending their export volume.

During this ceremony, the peaches that were picked in the morning and have been carefully selected are to be shipped to Hong Kong by air. One peach weighs around 375 grams and they will be sent to HK customers' homes by courier express.

This not only suggests that Hong Kong consumers can enjoy Nanhui peaches on the same day when they were picked, but also signifies more export opportunities for this famous agricultural product, which has over 150 years cultivation history in Shanghai city. In the future, this Shanghai fruit will also be exported to surrounding markets such as Singapore, Japan and Korea by direct supply.
