The eighth edition will be held from September 28 to the 30

Over 650 companies will participate in Expoalimentaria

Buyers from five continents will come to Peru to establish business contacts with more than 650 national and international companies that will exhibit their best export offer at the Expoalimentaria fair, which will be held from September 28 to the 30 at the Jockey Exhibition Centre, the Exporters Association (ADEX) stated.

The eighth edition of Expoalimentaria, the most important business platform in Latin America for the food, beverages, machinery, equipment, supplies, packaging, services, restaurant, and gastronomic sectors, will be held in 23,400 square meters and will involve companies and producers from all over Peru. The largest delegations are from Lima, Callao, Lambayeque, Piura, La Libertad, San Martin, Cusco, Ayacucho, Ancash, and Arequipa.

In addition to domestic exhibitors, there will also be international pavilions from Turkey, Brazil, South Africa, the Netherlands, Argentina, Spain, Ecuador, Denmark, Chile, Italy, Guatemala, Japan, Bolivia, Indonesia, Poland, and India. 



Walmart, Geant Hypermarket, and Kanematsu Corporation
Representatives of supermarkets, retailers, wholesalers, importers, traders, and food suppliers, among others, will come to Lima to explore the Peruvian offer. To date, Walmart (US), Tesco PLC (UK), Geant Hypermarket (UAE), Spar- Freshline (South Africa), Casino (France) Unisuper (Guatemala), Cencosud (Chile), and Competitor (Ecuador) have confirmed that they will assist at the fair.

The fair will also be attended by Kanematsu Corporation and Ito-Yokado Co. of Japan; Flavours and Colours EJC SAS and La Gran Colombia of Colombia; Super 99, Supermercados Rey, Romero Supermarkets, Super Extra Machetazo of Panama; and Casa Fiesta and supermarkets Rosa, Nardelli, Manetti, Koch, Imperatriz, Hippo, Central Rede Top, Angeloni, Bistek Giacossi from Brazil.

A novelty of this year's Expoalimentaria is the LAC Flavors business conference, which was organized by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and Connect Americas, and that will include the participation of exporters and buyers from North, Central and South America, as well as from the Caribbean, Europe, and Asia. 



Other activities
Expoalimentaria will also have specialized conventions, themed shows, technical seminars, and other complementary events. Some of the events include the VIII International Convention of Organic Products, the IV Markets and Trends Convention, and the V Food Packaging Convention. Other events to be held include the VII Innovation Competition, the Peruvian Cocoa and Coffee for the World event, and the Wine Tasting and Food Pairing event.

One of the most expected halls is the Pisco, Wine and Spirits Hall which will have keynote presentations from Joel Chirinos, the winner of the 2016 World Class Peru; Aaron Diaz, the best bartender of the year in the 2014 edition of the Awards lights; David Romero, winner of the 2015 World Class Peru; José Luis Valencia, a finalist in the 2016 World Class Peru; Karen Alvarez, a finalist in the 2016 World Class Peru (2nd Stage); Marcos Blass, brand ambassador for Marie Brizard; and Luis Obregon, a participant in the 2016 World Class Peru.
Meanwhile, Chefs Pedro Miguel Schiaffino, Francesco Delfino, Palmiro Ocampo, William Valero de Palma, Juani Serna, Eduardo Fujihara, Cesar Choy, Israel Laura, Arlette Eulert, and Raul Cenzano will prepare dishes with export products at another hall.

Expoalimentaria is organized by ADEX, with the support of the Ministry of Production (Produce), the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation (Minagri), the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (RR.EE.), and PromPeru. 

In 2015, Expoalimentaria was visited by more than 43,600 visitors, 3,200 of which were international visitors. The companies exhibited more than 1,640 products in 32 categories, had more than 500 business meetings, and performed business worth more than US $ 800 million.
