Spain: New technologies to save time in the field

In today's global market, companies and agricultural cooperatives have no choice but to jump on the bandwagon of technology, but always looking for solutions that help them optimise their work, especially in the field.

An increasingly greater number of companies in traditional sectors are involved in a process of digitization and modernization of the tools that their field technicians use; this is the case, for instance, of the wine or rice sectors.

In the case of the wine sector, one of the problems that field technicians face is being able to properly reach the plots without getting lost, which can be due to them not having the SIGPAC reference for the vines that they have to visit. It has also become necessary to use ICT tools to stop entering information in a notebook, whose information had then to be rewritten in an office; a process which usually resulted in something getting lost along the way.

Another traditional sector is that of the designations of origin, where such technicians have trouble locating the plots of growers applying for the designation and lose much time organising inspections to check that they meet the requirements.

These are the cases of businesses such as Bodega Emilio Moro or the Designation of Origin Arroz de Valencia, which have found in the agricultural management software VISUAL 3.0 and its app the best solution to optimise their work, both in the fields and in the office.

VISUAL 3.0 offers agricultural businesses an overview of their data, allowing them to know what is going on with their crops at all times. On the one hand, as we mentioned in the example, you can organise field visits or inspections, but can also assign tasks or phytosanitary treatments, generate a field notebook, find out what plots are being more profitable and have access to the data from its sensors and images of drones on the same platform. With the app, they can record the information offline in the field and attach photos or files; definitely a wide range of possibilities that can be tailored to the needs of each customer.

VISUAL 3.0 is considered the most powerful software for the management of agricultural farms. It is currently in use with more than 600,000 hectares of various crops in 5 countries.
