Broccoli Rabe features on NY culinary scene

A few weeks back, Andy Boy and its flagship vegetable, Broccoli Rabe were recently featured in The Wall Street Journal, and the super-green vegetable is popping up everywhere.

This past week, Andy Boy Broccoli Rabe, along with best-selling author and clean-eating chef, Candice Kumai teamed up for “The Broccoli Rabe Restaurant Tour,” a unique social media tour around New York City and we celebrated some of the fantastic and unique broccoli rabe dishes being served at “hot spots” around town.

For breakfast, Candice kicked off the day with the Polpetta di Fungi at restaurateur, Danny Meyer’s, Maialino, featuring a mushroom and broccoli rabe patty paired with a hash brown and a sunny side egg.

Next, Candice headed to Rosemary’s for a tasty lunch of Orecchiette packed with broccoli rabe, homemade sausage and fresno chili. Chef Wade Moises gave Candice the rundown on the dish, broccoli rabe and more in a Facebook Live chat in their one-of-a-kind urban, rooftop garden.

To finish off the day, Candice indulged in the delicious Bell & Evans Chicken under a Brick with yukon potato, broccoli rabe and pan drippings at the restaurant, Marc Forgione, while she chatted with the Chef Forgione all about it. Check out the Facebook Live here.

Throughout the day, Candice and Andy Boy Broccoli Rabe documented the experience, the very talented chefs and all the delightful dishes – you can check it out on Instagram via @eatbroccolirabe and @candicekumai as well as on Snapchat by following EatBroccoliRabe and Candice Kumai.

In addition to the Facebook Live chats above, Candice also stopped by InStyle Magazine to share her clean eating tips – please click here to view the Q&A.
