Fruitimprese data foreign trade during first four months of 2016

The balance during the first four months of 2016 was €363 million, i.e. 2.2% less than last year. The trend follows that of the previous months, with an increase in the quantity (+4.7%) and value (+3.8%) of exports and of imports (+0.3% in volume and +5.7% in value). 

During this period, Italy exported around 1.45 million tons for a total value of €1.60 billion.

There was an increase in the flow of vegetables (+12.7%), citrus fruit (+19.9%) and dried fruit (+8.9%) with a 3.6% drop for fresh fruit. For what concerns the value, the sign was positive for vegetables (+2.4%), citrus fruit (+30.6%) and dried fruit (+19%) with again a slight drop for fresh fruit (-2.2%).

Italy imported around 1.22 million tons of products for a total value of €1.23 billion.

There was an increase in the volume of fresh fruit (+3.3%), vegetables (+3.7%) and tropical fruit (+13.6%) with a drop for citrus fruit (-33.7%) and dried fruit (-15.1%). The latter two also recorded a negative value, while the sign was positive for fresh fruit, tropical fruit and vegetables.
