Nectarines from Zhouzhi county exported to Russia

The nectarines from Zhouzhi county-- the key fruit county in Shaanxi province, come to the market when summer arrives and the nectarine picking scenes are frequently seen within all the plantation areas. According to Mr. Chen Gang, the deputy director of Zhouzhi County Fruit Bureau, nectarines this year are big in size and high in volume thanks to the affluent rain, and the sales are very promising as well. Last year the kiwis from Zhouzhi county were exported to Russia, followed by nectarines this year, which stimulated the local growers significantly.

As an important fruit production province in China, Shaanxi province has a cultivation area of 120000 hectares. Meanwhile, Shaanxi province is also known as the starting point of the ancient silk road. It is also through this silk road that all their apples, kiwis, oranges, pomegranates, pears and nectarines are imported to Russia and other 5 countries from Middle Asia. Between January and May this year, Shaanxi province exported a total of 47,000 tons, with a value of 44,870,000 US dollars, a year on year increase of 20% and 26% respectively.
