The bad quality drops demand and losses for fruit farmers and speculators are big. On the other side, people are less interested in watermelons when the weather is bad. Altogether, the buying and wholesale prices for watermelons have definitely dropped. This is also related to an expansion of the watermelon cultivation area and an increased production volume.
