From Mexico, Haiti, week ending 6/25/16

Weekly mango shipments to US up on last year

The National Mango Board is working with organizations in the mango-producing countries to get projections of what will be shipped to the U.S. 

The mango volume shipped on week ending 6/25/16 was approximately 4,177,070 boxes. During the same week last year, the volume shipped was approximately 3,384,992 boxes.

The total volume of mango which arrived at U.S. entry ports as of week 6/25/16 was approximately 60,164,164.

Mexico



The Mexican season began in January and will run until October with a projection of approximately 66 million boxes.

Mexico’s main varieties are Tommy Atkins (38%), Ataulfo (26%), Kent (20%), Haden (7%), Keitt (8%) and Other (1%).

The volume shipped from Mexico on week ending 6/25/16 was approximately 4,125,190 boxes for a total of 43,055,154 boxes for the
season.

During the same week last year, the volume shipped from Mexico was approximately 2,872,826 boxes for a total of 47,736,348 boxes.

Haiti



The Haitian season began in April and will run until September with a projection of approximately 2 million boxes.

Haiti’s main variety is Madame Francis (100%).

The volume shipped from Haiti on week ending 6/25/16 was approximately 51,880 boxes for a total of 1,519,707 boxes for the season.

During the same week last year, the volume shipped from Haiti was approximately 94,647 boxes for a total of 2,111,311 boxes.
