Spain: Navasa and Kingenta sign trade agreement

The Chamber of Commerce has welcomed the agreement reached by the Almeria-based company Navasa S.A (Antonio Navarro) with the Chinese group Kingenta, which will allow it to start operating in Almeria from the current facilities of the Port of Almeria. The presentation of the agreement reached between the Spanish company and the Chinese giant has counted with the participation of the President of NAVASA, Antonio Navarro, and the president of Kingenta, Wan Lianbu, accompanied by the President of the Chamber, Diego Martínez Cano, and backed by an outstanding representation of both the local and regional government and a delegation of executives from the Chinese group.

Navasa, founded in the 60's, is a key company in the field of technology for greenhouse agriculture. Through research, it has managed to develop plant protection products and fertilizers currently supplied to farms.

Kingenta, meanwhile, is a high-tech company; a leader in nutrition, which is involved in the production and marketing of high-end fertilizers for crops. It devotes plenty of resources to R&D. It has 10,000 employees and 10 production plants, as well as 2 research centres in China and 1 in Washington, in addition to partnerships with several international universities and cooperation agreements with Israel.

This important business operation will have positive repercussions for Almeria's economy in terms of employment and value creation.
