Peru to host Expoalimentaria in September

Expoalimentaria, the most important international fair for the Latin American food industry, will host its eighth edition from 28 to 30 September 2016 at the Jockey Exhibition Center in Lima, Peru.

The event, which will be set across an area of 23,400 square meters, will feature exporters, importers and suppliers of food and drinks, as well as packaging, machinery and services from both Latin America and worldwide. It will also welcome buyers from leading retailers around the world.

This event generated more than US $800 million worth of sales in 2015, allowing it to become, once again, the most important business platform in Latin America's food sector. This year will mark the eighth edition of the event.

Expoalimentaria 2016 will feature international pavilions from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Bolivia, Ecuador, Denmark, Turkey, Indonesia, Italy, the Netherlands, Taiwan and Spain; and for the first time, Poland, South Africa and Japan. It will also showcase a wide variety of Peruvian products that are gaining traction overseas, including quinoa, chia, avocado, mango, cocoa, coffee, pisco, peppers, asparagus, grapes, aguaymanto, artichokes and various marine species, such as anchovy and shrimp.

Halls And Activities
Visitors to Alimentaria also have the opportunity to participate in the Demonstration Kitchen, which will feature the most recognised chefs in the industry, and present various types of food preparation and consumption.

It will also feature the Hall of Pisco, Wine and Spirits, one of the most visited aspects of the fair, where invited speakers will share keynote presentations using products showcasing Peru's exports.

Other highlights of Expoalimentaria 2016 will be the Peruvian Cocoa and Coffee world, where visitors and buyers can observe the transformation process of these products, as well as their various derivatives.

The seventh edition of Expoalimentaria, held last year, welcomed more than 43,600 visitors, 3,200 international visitors, and 680 national and international exhibitors.
