Honduras to exhibit exotic fruits in Germany

Organizations that promote Honduran exports presented the official logo of the Fruit Logistica Fair, which will be held in the city of Berlin, Germany, in February 2017.

On this occasion the fair will be identified by a melon, one of the main agricultural exports of Honduras.

The coordinator of the Agribusiness Unit of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (SAG), Francisco Herrera, attended the unveiling of the logo.

Due to the importance of the activity, representatives of organizations which promote exports in the country have begun preparations in advance, as entrepreneurs that show their fresh produce to potential buyers from different countries, including Honduras, have already participated in the fair in previous years.

Among the promoters is FIDE, Investment and Exports, which is a private, nonprofit organization created in 1984 to promote investment in the country and support the development of exports.

The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Integrated Service to Promote the participation of Central American countries in International Fairs, and the CEO of AHK Honduras, Adolfo Peña Lopez.

According to a bulletin issued by FIDE, during the 2015 version of the fair, "Honduras show-cased exotic fruits, like rambutan and mangosteen, tropical roots, such as yams and okra -a super food-."

On that occasion, 4 exporting companies participated in the fair: CUASA (with American and Indian okra), Frutas Exóticas (with rambutan and mangosteen), Deroso Farms (with sweet potato and pumpkin) and Pyflor (with a variety of herbs and mini vegetables).

Some 2,891 exhibitors and 70,000 visitors attend Fruit Logistica every year to discover the business potential the international fresh produce sector has and to write their own success story!

Fruit Logistic includes all the business areas and participants of the fresh products market providing a complete overview of all new products and services throughout the process. It offers excellent opportunities to contact key target groups at the decision making level.

Companies in the fresh produce sector; including multinational, medium, and small sized suppliers will get together between February 8 and 10, 2017, in Berlin, Germany.
