Summer Citrus from South Africa first fruit to arrive in Philadelphia

Summer Citrus from South Africa (SCSA) has announced that its first vessel of citrus will arrive at the Port of Philadelphia on June 24, on pace with years prior. In order to support a season where U.S. citrus is not produced in mass, the arrival of SCSA plays an important role in the availability of Easy Peelers, Navel oranges, and grapefruit during the summer months.

To support sales conversations surrounding the summer crop, SCSA will be at booth #1731 at United Fresh June 20-22. CEO of SCSA Suhanra Conradie, along with SCSA growers Stiaan Engelbrecht, Gerrit van der Merwe, and Philipetri Fourie will be at the booth with members from their four primary importers Capespan, DNE, AMC, and Seald Sweet.

“It’s an exciting month for us as we share our new consumer-focused brand identity with those who have not yet seen it, while also welcoming our first vessel of citrus to the Port of Philadelphia,” said Suhanra Conradie, CEO of Summer Citrus from South Africa. “We expect a seamless transition from U.S. citrus to South African citrus as our fruit enters the market over the next several weeks.”
