Garlic harvest this year Jinxiang

From the beginning of the 1990s, Jinxiang has been well known for its garlic quality, the production volume, storage capacity and export volume etc. So far Jinxiang has a annual garlic cultivation area of around 40,000 hectares, with an annual garlic production of 700,000 tons. It also has a garlic storage level capacity of nearly 2million tons and the export volume can reach 1.3 million tons per year. Speaking of its garlic processing and export volume, it accounts for over 70% of the whole of China. To a great extent, Jinxiang has become the garlic market benchmark in China.

This year Jinxiang garlic planting area has increased from last year's 35,733 hectares to 38,667 hectares. It is expected that the garlic yields will lower down 5-10% due to the impact of heavy snow and low temperature.

Judging by the current market situation, the garlics from the south part of China can be sold at around 5 Yuan per kilo, which almost doubled compared to that of last year. However it is estimated that the garlic price will increase as Jinxiang garlics come to the market.
