Annual meeting of the DFHV in Frankfurt on June 10, 2016
Orienting on the future: online trade, Generation Y and citrus from abroad
The next annual meeting of the German Fruit Traders Association (DFHV) takes place in Frankfurt, Friday 10 June 2016.
The public part of the annual meeting focuses on research and, among others, a current study of the DFHV is presented. And there will be interesting lectures and discussions about “digitization and online trading”.
“The goal of the annual meetings of the DFHV is to discuss the current themes and inspire new ideas. And Frankfurt 2016 won’t be any different,” states Dieter Krauß the President of the DFHV.
A large role is played by the digitization of the trade. Krauß continues: "We haven’t discussed the ways to increase the consumption of fruit and vegetables all those years for nothing so we will deal with trading in the digital age in Frankfurt." A few of the speakers are Christiane Bell of BayWa, Boris Hedde manager of the Institute of Trade Research and Prof. Dr. Thomas Roeb of the University of Applied Sciences Bonn-Rhein-Sieg.
Furthermore two studies are presented which are supported or commissioned by the DFHV. Gabriel Tröscher has surveyed produce companies, about if and how companies prepare for the specific expectations of Generation Y. What should companies pay attention to when dealing with Generation Y and how can the get them to commit to their company.
The Research Institute ttz (Bremerhaven) presents the results of a study commissioned by DFHV on the production and sustainability issues with citrus fruit from abroad as example.
Krauß states: “Overall, we offer exciting content, and the opportunity to exchange experiences with colleagues from trade, laboratories, organizations, agencies and institutions.”
