Senegal exported 16,770 tons of mangoes in 2015

Mango exports from Senegal reached 16,770 tons in 2015, according to the Secretary General at ASEPEX (Senegalese agency to promote exports), Jean Marie Diouf. These exports were towards sub-regions and Europe. Senegalese mangoes were the only ones on the European market over the summer. Thanks to their taste, the Kent variety is the most exported.

ASEPEX plans to create a regional mango alliance in order to increase the African mango’s market share and make a national brand. With 125,000 tons produced and 16,000 exported, the sector is at its most dynamic in export.
