Savasun South Africa expects 111 million boxes of citrus

Volume of South African Navels slightly less than last year

Three weeks ago the first South African satsumas arrived, followed by the clementines and lemons. Last week the first Navels arrived. The drought has meant that the volume of the navels is slightly less than last year. All in all the South African citrus growers and Savasun South Africa look towards the 2016 season with optimism, Staay Food Group reports on it's website. The expectation is that around 111 million boxes of 15kg will be harvested. This number is slightly lower than in recent years due to the weather conditions.
