The strawberry breeder Flevo Berry from Ens will enter intense collaboration with South Korean partners. The goal is to create improved varieties for the global market. Knowledge is being exchanged between South Korea and Europe and people are being trained in breeding and plant breeding.

FLevo Berry has been standing on its own feed since 2015. The breeding activity came from the strawberry plant nursery Goossens Flevoplant, which started a breeding programme 15 years ago. Flevo Berry has managed to conquer a firm position in the European market in a very short time. The focus is on tasty strawberries, that have natural resistance to various diseases and plagues. These tasty strawberries also have to be in stores in all seasons. The varieties from South Korea play an important role in this.
