Orri sees increase in popularity in France

"Topfruits increased the amount of Orri mandarins it bought from Israel this season, and they hope to further increase tonnage in future years. The mandarin is popular in Europe, and the shipper will look to capitalize on that going forward.

"We did a very good season with the Orri," noted Pierre Athiel from Topfruits, a French importer and marketer of fresh produce. "We sold lots of pallets for mass distribution in France.". Though there is Spanish Orri available, most of what was sold by Topfruits was imported from Israel.

"There is small volume in Spain, if the volume increases in Spain, we will see to import Orri from Spain."

In addition to the mandarins, Topfruits brings in Israeli sweet potatoes. In the future, the company may increase shipments of grapefruit, but, for now, they are focusing on building up existing programs."
