All Kompany activities from one central location

"It has always been our wish to carry out all our own activities from one central location." This wish is about to come true at the Fresh Park Venlo with a new building. From here the 300 million cucumbers of Kompany will be cooled, packaged to customers desires and distributed. Screw compressors with a total cooling power of 800 kW don't just provide the cooling of the entire building, but also the heating for the offices. The Geerlofs installation is set up so that a balance is found in a relatively high humidity to keep the fresh quality of the products high without affecting the packaging.

Ammonia as a cooling agent
The natural cooling agent used in the Geerlofs installation, ammonia, has no adverse affect on global warming. It is also very energy efficient, which further reduces the CO2 emissions. By regulating the cooling power stepless through frequency control, the cold needed is produced. Waste is unnecessary. The installation also supplies the heat needed for the offices and the dry storage of packaging materials.

Safety and automation
By only applying ammonia in the machine room and working with a cold carrier in the building, we limit safety measures to the machine room. A system with automatic detection, alarm and suction if needed is set up according to the newest regulations. By using self developed software Geerlofs gives insight into the product quality and status of the technology.
