Mali: Fresh mango season has started

The south of Mali is known for it pesticide and chemical free production of mangoes. Traditional farming and an ideal climate are key elements securing the phenomenal taste of these mangoes. The main varieties are Amelia and Kent.

The largest operator in the region C.E.D.I.A.M. S.A. in cooperation with MONTECARLOFRUIT will supply the European Market in coming weeks with these excellent natural Mali mangoes.

Having started in 2012 CEDIAM developed their business in two directions; first starting with industrial production of aseptic high quality mango pulp and concentrate. The production of the pulp amounted to more than 10,000 tonnes last year with an expected increase of 25% for this year. This created the possibility to select the best fresh mangoes for export to Europe.

CEDIAM has been credited with Global Gap, Fair Trade, Ecocert Organic and FSSC 22000 certification.

Last week, Otto de Groot of HDG the fruit consultants supervised the sorting, packing and loading of containers of fresh mangoes. His practical advise helped CEDIAM to improve the packing, cooling and loading process.
