Village Farms International, Inc. has announced that it will hold an annual and special meeting of shareholders on June 23, 2016 at Company's Delta 1 Greenhouse in Delta, B.C. (the "Meeting"). The record date for the purpose of determining the holders of Village Farms common shares entitled to receive notice and vote at the Meeting is May 19, 2016.
Village Farms also announced that it has amended and restated the shareholder rights plan agreement dated March 23, 2016 between Village Farms and Computershare Investor Services Inc. (the "Rights Plan"). The amendments to the Rights Plan were administrative in nature. The amended and restated Rights Plan is currently in effect and subject to ratification by the Village Farms shareholders at the Meeting and acceptance by the Toronto Stock Exchange.
