Taiwan Maogu Citrus first intercepted in Damaiyu Port

During the May Day holiday season, Taizhou Inspection and Quarantine Bureau in Zhengjiang province inspected the belongings that landed directly at Damaiyu Port from Taiwan, during which some items were intercepted, including Taiwan Maogu citrus, apples, oranges, wax apples, bacon and eggs etc. Currently the above mentioned items are being sent out to the quarantine laboratory for further investigation.

It is also worth mentioning that the Maogu citrus was intercepted for the first time.
Generally speaking, the prohibition of taking fruits during air flight travel is to prevent the entry of pests and diseases, as fruits are the main dwelling place for insect larvae and eggs.

In the future, Taizhou Inspection and Quarantine Bureau will continue to promote the importance of fruit inspections. They will not only strengthen the efforts in fruits and meat inspections, those who cannot meet the standards will be destroyed.
