Argentina inspects pears and apples for export to China

The Argentine and Chinese health services authorized the export of the first seven containers with 143,584 kilograms of fresh pears produced in Argentina to the Asian nation.

The fruit was inspected by technicians from the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) and the National Health Service and Food Quality (Senasa) in the phytosanitary protection site of the latter body that is located in the town of Villa Regina, province of Rio Negro.

The verification was part of the phytosanitary protocol requirements for the export of pears and apples agreed by both countries, which states that during the second year of export, two inspectors from AQSIQ and the Senasa will certificate a percentage of these shipments to verify that the agreement is being implemented.

This is one of the ways that Senasa accompanies the fruit sector in developing trade ties with China so that they have new destinations to export these products.
