As the main pineapple plantation region in China, Xuwen now welcomes its harvest season. During the same period in previous years, large trucks came to the pineapple gardens one after another, and the pineapple growers were full of the joys of the harvest. By contrast, this year pineapple growers in Xuwen are very sad, because just in the last 10 days, the local pineapple prices plummeted, and the lowest one is only 0.24yuan / kg. They can only let these mature pineapples rot in the ground as nobody would like to buy them.
There are still around 20 days before Xuwen pineapples are listed on the market. Although Xuwen Agricultural Bureau has implemented many autocratic measures to rescue the market, around 6,667 acres of pineapples are ready for sale. It is expected that a lot of pineapple growers will suffer a huge loss.
