"Ian Thonrnhill (Vitaal Europe): "Shortage expected in the coming three weeks"

First Mexican limes of new season arrive on a good market

Today the first Mexican limes of the season arrived at Vitaal Europe. The limes were grown and packed by Inverafrut, one of the biggest lime producers in Mexico. Normally we get lime via seafreight, but the market is so good we have them via air," explained Ian Thornhill from Vitaal Europe.

"I expect the shortage to last for around three weeks. As well as Mexico, Brazil also has a limited supply. The result is a price of 10-12 euro for limes via the sea and 13 for those via air," said Ian. The limes are packed under the exclusive brand 'Lacey's Limes'. Vitaal sells limes throughout Europe, the biggest markets being Scandinavia, The Netherlands and the UK.
