China: Cherry cargo volume hit the historical record in Dalian airport

Affected by the weather this year, the mature season of Dalian greenhouse cherry came 20 days earlier than that of previous years, which attracted a lot of attention from the industry experts. During the first quarter of this year, a total of 754 tons of fruit are transported across the whole country via Dalian airport, a 120% increase compared with the same period last year. Among the fruit cargo volume, cherry transport volume reached 241 tons, a surge of 260% compared with that of last year.

More cherry farmers are motivated as Dalian cherries are well appreciated in the market. By far the number of cherry greenhouses has doubled that of last year, and its cherry yields have hit a historical record. Thanks to its earlier listing time this year, the market average purchase price of Dalian cherries is 20 Yuan higher than last year, reaching 120 Yuan/kilo.
