Hamburg Süd opens direct route between Puerto Progreso and Europe

On 3 April, for the first time in history, the direct route connecting Puerto Progreso, in Mexico, with various destinations in Europe was inaugurated. This new service of the shipping line Hamburg Süd is part of the company's strategy to expedite its commercial activities.

Shipments started departing from Puerto Progreso with direct routes to European countries such as Germany, France, the Netherlands, Spain and the UK. The first ship travelling the new route was the Cap Beatrice V.61 and connections will be made on a weekly basis. The size of this container vessel is the largest that Puerto Progreso can currently receive, with a capacity of 2,500 TEUs.

In addition to this service, shipments will also be made to the east coast of the United States. Some of the ports where shipments will arrive include Port Everglades, New York, Philadelphia and Houston, among others.
