China: Zhongshan develops Hong Kong vegetable export

Zhongshan is an important vegetable production base in the South of China near Macau and Shenzhen. During the first quarter of this year, Zhongshan has exported a total of 12,516 tons of vegetables to Hong Kong and Macao with an estimated value of 3.4 million USD. This is an increase of 30% and 40% compared to the first quarter of 2015.

Daily exports have gone up from 80 ton to 140 ton. Zhongshan is an important production base for Macao and Hong Kong. The region has 10 designated vegetable production zones that cover over 360 hectares.
