Fruits 'Buy As You Go' during Chinese New Year

Fresh fruits are one of the must-have items during ChineseNew Year. Traditionally, consumers hurried to stock up fresh fruits before thefestivities. But this year in Shanghai, fruits sellers introduced a new conceptof "buy as you go".

Usually, during Chinese New Year the cost of transport andlabour would drive up fruit prices somewhat. However, fruit prices do appear tobe stable, and good "value for money" brands are particularly popular.Currently in Shanghai, the choices are plentiful, with more and more importedfruits. Cherries, Rambutans, Longans, jujubes, and coconuts are among the mostpopular choices during the festivities.
