Alex Hofstee, ULMA Packaging:

"New Sienna Flowpackmachine reaches over 85 packs per minute"

During the Fruit Logistica the Spanish machine manufacturer Ulma Packaging presented its renewed ULMA Sienna Flowpack machine. The machine is also used for flowers and non-food, but is mainly used in the fruit and vegetable sector within open ground vegetables. The first machines - that work with a servo cross seal system with a product passage of no less than 235 mm - will come into production in April, but Alex Hofstee of the Dutch sales office has already sold the first machines.

"The biggest change is that this Sienna High-Tec doesn't need pneumatic air and is completely servo controlled,' says Alex. "With this machine we can reach a capacity of 85 packagings per minute. That speed and reliability is especially valued. The new machine also ensures considerable savings on energy as it is servo controlled."

The machine is also foreseen of an industrial PC (UPC). The software the machine runs on was completely developed by ULMA Packaging. The industrial PC (UPC) makes it possible to control the axis' and motors even more accurately. This raises accuracy which means a higher flow can be reached, which results in a higher capacity and efficiency.
