Anecoop seeking to expand in Latin America

Anecoop is the only European fruit growing company travelling with European Agriculture Commissioner Phil Hogan to Colombia and Mexico; a trip that was organised this week to help European producers in the opening of new markets in these countries.

Paco Borrás, marketing director at Anecoop.

Anecoop is already present in Latin America, but according to the company's marketing director, Paco Borrás, this trade mission is "a good business opportunity to enter new markets with potential, such as Colombia and Mexico."

The European Commission and Anecoop have chosen Colombia and Mexico, among other reasons, because they have prosperous economies and a growing population. Besides the 8 Spanish companies taking part, a number of firms from Germany, France, Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Bulgaria, Finland, Greece, Ireland, Poland, Portugal and the United Kingdom will also form part of the delegation.

The trips to Colombia and Mexico are part of the diplomatic strategy that the EU planned to try finding new business opportunities for producers since the entry into force of the Russian embargo on certain European food products.
