Run on Chinese citrus in Malaysia

Recently, citrus from China has become one of the best-selling fresh fruits in the region of Xinshan in Malaysia. The recently strong depreciation of the Malaysia Jilin has attracted many Singaporeans to cross the border with Malaysia to purchase citrus products at a lower prince. In addition, the Spring Festival celebrations have driven up demand.

Datuk Tee Siew Kiong Datuk, the chairman of the local Tourism, Trade and Consumer Protection Association, predicts that Chinese citrus demand has increased by 10% compared to the same period last year.

Southeast Asia has been an important export market for citrus from China for quite a long time. The region currently accounts for more than 60% of total Chinese citrus export.
