"We only really get two responses to Click4fruit.com. Usually and enthusiastic response from people who think it is a really good idea, and some are still a bit hesitant," says Steven. "We have a unique concept in our hands of which the simplicity speaks to people. We are also offering smaller producers and importers the opportunity to trade with each other with this platform."
The concept works as follows. Registering is free. Producers world wide can offer their fruit on Click4fruit. Interested buyers can look for fruit on the platform. They then communicate with the producer, buy the products and pay the bill through Click4fruit. "We have SGS, among others, carry out a quality and packaging control as a well known an independent control bureau. The controllers check whether the product meets the indicated specifications and if the packaging of the transport container suffices. The fruit can only come on board with agreement," says Michael.
A lot of thought was also put into the financial transaction. "Click4fruit guarantees payment through the trust Trust4fruit as an escrow account. We receive a set fee of 150 dollars per participant per deal of each container as Click4fruit," says Steven. "The trust Trust4fruit will take care of the financial transaction. It controls the transaction until the moment the container is free on board (FOB) of the transport vehicles. When all documents have been approved, Trust4fruit pays the producers directs and the buyer is then the full owner of the container."
"We can't wait to go live. The biggest challenge will be to get the demanding parties interested. We have every faith in it. Click4fruit makes sources and trading fruit faster, easier and without risk. We connect producers and buyers with multiple markets and do this any time throughout the day everywhere in the world. We will start with fruit and then see what we can expand with."
"The interest is coming from South and North America, Canada and Europe at the moment. During the Fruit Logistica in Berlin we hope to meet a lot of interested parties at our stand (Hall 23 F-04) and give them an insight into the platform and information. Three weeks after the fair we will go completely live. We want to grow to a trading platform that is used by producers, importer and exports daily," concludes Michael.
